Rwanda, Africa
In the early summer of 2015 I, along with a small group of students and adults, made the journey to Rwanda, Africa. We spent the next 2 weeks touring in and around Kigali, the nation's capital, Akagera National Wildlife Preserve and the small town of Nyagatare. In Nyagatare, we ministered to school children and helped to instruct teachers on effective teaching methods at the K-5 Bright Future School.
Seeing the way that Rwandans conducted their lives was truly awe-inspiring. Only twenty years earlier, the country was torn apart by a massive genocide which took the lives of over 1 million people. Brother killed brother and neighbor slaughtered neighbor; yet the Rwandans today showed supernatural forgiveness toward one another and the country has since seen a state of reconciliation.
