Know Yourself, Know Your Worth

Technically this is week three, which is crazy cuz time flies so fast! I've had an amazing time this week now that I'm getting into the swing of things, I have a solid friend group and no enemies to speak of so so far so good!

Over the course of this week Garrett Perkins came in for 4 straight days and taught us an overview of the entirety of the bible. He gave us an entirely new and arguable correct way to view the bible, a christological viewpoint. Essentially this boils down the bible to be interpreted solely with the thought of God's love and mercy and his long term plan involving Jesus and his atonement for sins. If we are shackled to Jesus then we cannot serve sin and vise versa, we can only have one master. You can either choose Jesus or the world. If you are truly shackled to Jesus then you will have victory over sin.

We as humans can never be free, we're doomed to be a slave to something, either you're a slave to good or a slave to the world. Bob Dylan beautifully sums this up in his song "Gotta Serve Someone"

"But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes Indeed you're gonna have to serve somebody Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord But you're gonna have to serve somebody"
