People often gawk at the prices some people will pay for brand name clothing like Gucci or Saint Laurent, fundamentally the difference in value of the materials the products are made with shouldn't cause such a steep difference in price between generic brands. So what is is about these products that makes people so willing to pay exorbitant rates for these products? It is the name they are associated with. When you hear of Gucci or Prada you can instantly recognize the brand as high quality and high fashion. The brands name defines its worth in peoples eyes.

Similarly, your name is a brand. When people hear your name so long as they know you they will instantly think of what your "brand" means to them. When they hear your name do they think you're honorable? Honest? Sincere? Do they think of you as a user? A liar or counterfeit?

Your actions define the value of your word and your brand. Integrity and consistency are necessary to establish your name as a reputable one but years of work can be undone in a single moment of weakness. Years of truthfulness can be thrown into question by a single lie. You have to prioritize the integrity of your name and your word above the convenience of a lie or cover up. Your honor is not worth sacrificing in the name of the easy route.

Establish your name as indicative of honor, integrity, honesty, sincere and compassionate. You're not expected to be perfect all the time but the way in which you deal with your shortcomings is what defines the true value of your brand. If you can admit fault and apologize without excuse you will be surprised how quickly you will be distinguished from others around.
